How and when to apply

Applications for 2025 to 2026 are now open!

You may already have a student finance account if you studied previously, otherwise you’ll need to create an account to apply.

When to apply

You can apply now for:

• 2025 to 2026
• 2024 to 2025

You must apply no later than 9 months after the start of the final academic year of your course. You do not need a confirmed place at university or college to apply.

You only need to apply once, even if your course lasts for more than a year. Although if you apply for your loan after your first year, you may not receive the maximum amount. Find out more on our what's available page.
